Heizohack Wood Chippers NZ & AU — Industrial Drum Chippers for Forestry & Biomass

Heizohack wood chippers are high-capacity machines designed for forestry contractors and biomass production across New Zealand. Built for continuous heavy-duty operation, they deliver high throughput, consistent chip quality and reliable performance in demanding environments.

Heizohack drum chippers use a rotating drum fitted with hardened steel blades to process whole trees, large logs and forestry slash into consistent chip — delivering significantly higher throughput than disc chippers of equivalent size, with in-feed capacities up to 800mm.

The Heizohack range includes crane-fed, trailer-mounted and truck-mounted chipper systems designed for processing large volumes of timber efficiently. These machines are suited to forestry operations, roadside work and high-output wood processing where consistent production is critical.

ALFA Equipment is the official Heizohack dealer for New Zealand and Australia, supplying high-capacity drum chippers with in-feed capacities up to 800mm.

We provide sales, demonstrations, commissioning, finance, parts and nationwide support to ensure your machine performs from day one. Already running a Heizohack? We supply genuine spare parts and ongoing support to keep your machine operating at full capacity.

Interested in seeing a Heizohack in action? We have a demonstration machine available in New Zealand. Contact us to arrange a demo.

For complete timber handling, ALFA also supplies PALMS forestry cranes and trailers — designed to work alongside Heizohack chippers as an integrated forestry system.

FAQ

  • Heizohack wood chippers are designed for large-scale processing, with infeed capacities up to 800mm depending on the model. They are built to handle whole trees, oversized timber and high-volume material.

  • For high-volume commercial work, yes. Drum chippers have a wider infeed throat, handle irregular and forked material more easily, and deliver higher throughput than disc chippers of equivalent power. Disc chippers suit arborist work where chip uniformity matters. For forestry, land clearing and biomass production at scale, a drum chipper is the right tool.

  • A drum chipper uses a large rotating steel drum with blades bolted to its outer surface — as the drum spins it pulls material in and chips it against a stationary anvil. Drum chippers excel at processing large, bulky and irregular timber at high volume. Disc chippers are better suited to smaller-diameter material where chip consistency is the priority.

  • Heizohack chippers are used in forestry, biomass production and large-scale wood processing. They are suited to contractors processing whole trees, waste wood, pallets and high volumes of timber.

  • Forestry chippers are typically used for whole tree processing, while biomass chippers focus on consistent output and chip quality. Heizohack systems are designed to handle both applications. Read "Why Heizohack Biomass Wood Chippers lead for large-scale chipping in NZ"

  • Output depends on the model, material type and feeding method, but Heizohack chippers are built for continuous, high-volume production. In real-world operations, they are designed to process large timber and biomass efficiently while maintaining consistent chip quality across varying material.

  • The right chipper depends on the size of material you’re processing, the volume required and how the machine will be fed (crane, digger or manual). Larger models are suited to whole tree and high-output work, while smaller setups may suit lower volume or more mobile operations. The best approach is to match the machine to your workflow and production goals.
