Fieldays 2026 is done, and we're still buzzing about the conversations we had at Site H6. If you came by, thanks for stopping in. If you missed us, here's what had contractors and forestry crews gathering around the stand all four days.
The main attraction: Heizohack, PALMS and JAKE working as one system
The centrepiece of our stand wasn't a single machine — it was the integrated chipping system, with Heizohack, PALMS and JAKE all on display together, set up the way they actually work in the field.
This is the setup serious contractors keep asking us about: a Heizohack industrial drum chipper fed by a PALMS forestry crane, mounted and guarded with JAKE engineering, running off the one tractor. Seeing it as a complete system — rather than three separate brochures — is what made people stop and look properly.
At the heart of it was the Heizohack HM 10-500. For a machine its size, the output turns heads: up to 100 cube an hour, eight and a half tons of German steel, and a track record across the UK and Europe for general contracting. It's not the biggest chipper in the field, but it out-chips the machines in its class — and that's exactly the conversation we kept having at the stand.
The best part? We can't wait to demo it. We've got an HM 10-500 in stock right now, and we're ready to put it in front of anyone serious about seeing what an integrated forestry chipping system can do on real timber.
PALMS cranes and trailers: real interest in the smaller end
We expected the big system to pull the crowd. What we didn't fully expect was how much genuine interest the smaller PALMS forestry cranes and trailers generated.
Plenty of operators came to the stand thinking about the full setup and left talking about a compact PALMS crane or a forestry trailer as their starting point. Built from Swedish Strenx steel, the PALMS range scales from a ute or tractor-mounted crane right up to the trailers that anchor a full system — so there's a genuine entry point whatever the size of your operation. For a lot of the people we spoke to, that smaller end is where the conversation begins.
Grapples and Peruzzo held their own
Two more parts of the range earned their place on the stand.
The PALMS grapples drew steady interest from operators who know that the right log grapple or excavator grapple is the difference between a good day and a frustrating one. It's the most accessible way into the PALMS family, and it does a lot of work for the price.
And the Peruzzo chippers really held their own. As the compact, PTO-driven end of our chipper range, the Peruzzo is the machine for operators who want a capable wood chipper without stepping up to industrial scale. We're the sole New Zealand dealer, and the steady stream of interest at Fieldays confirmed there's real demand for a well-built compact chipper with proper dealer backup behind it.
Why people choose ALFA
We're the exclusive New Zealand and Australian distributor for Heizohack, PALMS and JAKE, the sole NZ dealer for Peruzzo, and the importer for Jensen. That means genuine machines, genuine parts, and the support to keep them running — not a grey import with no one behind it.
Whether you're after a commercial wood chipper for sale, a forestry crane, a log or excavator grapple, or the full integrated system, we carry it and we stand behind it.
The HM 10-500 is in stock now — let's get you a demo
If Fieldays got you thinking about a Heizohack, here's the timing: we have an HM 10-500 in stock right now. There won't be a machine on the floor next year waiting around — this one's ready to demo and ready to go.
Want to see the integrated Heizohack, PALMS and JAKE system on your own timber? Get in touch and we'll line up a demonstration.
